Kejriwal government to give Rs 1Cr to medical professionals families in case of on duty deaths.
COVID-19 has hit the world hard. The nationwide lockdown in India has helped in curbing the spread of virus to community transmission stage. The corona virus infected people have been kept in quarantine.The number has raised over 1600 with 38 deaths.
Amid this, today, Delhi's chief minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has announced that his government will be pay Rs 1Cr. to any medical professional in case someone loses his life while serving Corona virus infected patients. The decision was taken today after an emergency cabinet meeting.
The CM said tweeted about this announcing the information. The cabinet has decided to give the amount to anyone from medical staff, sanitation workers or nurses from both private and government hospitals, in case of any mishappening.
Since last few weeks, doctors and medical professionals from all over the country have been raising their demands for proper medical kits and PPE, stating that they are at a higher risk while treating the infected patients. The central govt under prime minister Narendra Modi is working to provide the necessary equipments. Between these things, the decision from the Delhi govt. should be appreciated.
India has not lost any of its Doctor to corona pandemic yet. It has sent medical kit to Serbia as an aid to the country which is facing lack of masks and medical supplies.
